Frequently asked questions.

What exactly will happen in an Escape Room?

An escape room is actual a set of puzzles & clues, with a theme, storyline and decor to fully immerse you into the scenerio.

Our Games Master, Steven, will greet you, give you some instructions (listen carefully, there maybe a clue in what he says) and he’ll set the scene before opening the door and sending you off to rob the train…

The Games Master is with you every step of the way, watching & listening, so he’s on hand for extra clues should you get stuck

Are we really locked in?

Actually no, partly becuase the fire safety officer gets reaally twitchy when you tell them you’re going to lock people in a room a.k.a. they dont allow and thus the escape room entrance door isnt locked …. and partly because with our escape room, you have to break INTO the train, steal the cash and get your haul to the robbers hideout….

How long does it last?

You will have 60 minutes to solve all the puzzles and make your escape, however please allow a bit more time as there intructions to listen to from the Games Master before you go in and photos afterwards if you wish

What if we don’t escape?

The Police catch you! Honestly, all teams have fun whether they escape or not. Our Games Master is happy to walk you through the clues, puzzles & answers afterwards. Really helpful for tricks&hints for your next escape room experience

What age is the Experience for?

Ages 11+ please.
Younger guests have such a varied age range of learning, its difficult to design a challenging scenerio to cover younger age groups. Plus there is lots for them to do locally - lets let the Tweens/Teens have some fun
Under 18’s must be accompanied by at least 1 adult.

How many people can take part?

Its a tough challenge for 2, especially if you inexperienced at Escape Rooms. We think the optimum team size is 3 - 4 persons, however we’re happy to accept a maximum of 6 people in the Escape Room at one time… just be aware the first few minutes are a bit ‘snug’, so I hope you’re all friends!

Is there a blue light card discount?

Yes, we offer 10% off to blue light card holders, please bring the card to show at venue and when booking use discount code: bluelight

How accessible is the experience?

Market House is grade II listed, with a step at both entrance doors. The escape room is located in the cellar, with stair-only access. The cellar is 500yrs old and pre-dates the building above, this also means the floor is a bit uneven & there are a few small steps within the escape room. We’re happy to pop a chair in (please mention when booking) and do please get in touch if you want further details.

Our toilets are located on the first floor… so 2 flights of stairs from cellar, to ground, then up to the 1st floor.

The experience can be played by Deaf players, as none of the vital infomation is audio. Clues and prompts from the Games Master are sent as text onto screens.

Reading is required within the room

Colour blindness - We believe this shouldn’t be a problem, however honestly we are yet to have a player tell us this affects them. If you are colourblind, we would love your feedback

Are there any parking discounts?

Hockliffe Street carpark, Duncombe Drive carpark, plus the high-street parking are all free after 6pm, all day Sunday and bank holidays.
In addition Duncombe Drive is free after 1pm on Tuesdays

(Please note the multi-story carpark on West St closes at 7pm)
